The Wisdom of Advent – Learning to Wait
Week 4: Peace.
Matthew 6:25-34 reminds us of our dependence on God and tells us not to worry. In a verse that never ceases to get my attention, Jesus asks, “Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span?” (Mt 6:27) Jesus tells us not to worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself.
But it’s so hard to let go of worries about tomorrow. Especially when we’re waiting (expectantly or anxiously) for tomorrow to arrive. Consider taking a vacation day from your worry, knowing that you can return to it tomorrow if you need to.
- Is there something small you can do today to find peace in the moment and let go of worries about tomorrow?
Another timely post. I read that scripture daily and here it is again in your blog. Thank you.

What a great idea to read that passage daily, especially in times of anxiety.
